1. Responsible for the design, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and improvements to control systems.

2. Supports automation system design including PLC & HMI programming. Ability to program in Allen Bradley, Siemens and /or Omron controls.

QUALIFICATIONS

3. Experience in creating technical documentation in a regulated environment.

4. Ability to read, write, and use electrical and hydraulic schematics as a troubleshooting aid.

5. Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a results oriented commitment.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

7. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

8. Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2D.

9. Experience with the management of a CMMS system is desirable.

10. Must be willing to work flexible hours should project work require.

Title Process Engineer

Job Information

1. Injection Molding Process Engineer (extrusion experience a plus) who can develop, troubleshoot, and improve process.

2. Works with Maintenance to insure the machines are operating properly.

3. Performs material trials and leads these activities.

4. Captures process data and uses data to refine and improve processes.

5. Trains and develops shift process technicians.

6. Assist in the management of tool maintenance and repair.

7. This is a hands-on position and requires someone who is highly capable of operating an injection molding machine.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must have first-hand working knowledge of the injection molding process and the relationships that exist between mold, machine, material, and automated robotic part removal.

2. Intimate knowledge of the injections molding process. Highly skilled in understanding the relationships between time, temperature, and pressure variables when diagnosing molding problems.

3. Must have 5-10 years of experience as a Process Engineer/Technician in an injection molding facility.

4. Experience with valve gated multi-drop hot runner tooling.

5. Experience with gas assist molding.

6. Must have experience in processing polyolefin parts and the ability to troubleshoot material problems.

7. Hands on knowledge of various additives and fillers such as  color concentrates, mineral filler, etc. and how their addition change process requirements.

8. Proven track record of safety compliance.

9. Understand advanced screw geometry design and their impact on the molding process.

10. Hands on experience with plant support systems such as:

*Process water chillers, evaporative towers and mold water circulating controllers

*Gravimetric weigh blending equipment

*Advanced hot runner temperature controls

11. Must have 3-5 years plastic injecting molding experience in manufacturing environment.

12. Must have Engineer degree or some technical training.

13. Must have experience with large molds.

14. Above average understanding of machine hydraulic systems and controls. Ability to read hydraulic schematics a plus.

15. Understanding of PLC controls to allow troubleshooting various input/output problems.

16. Lean/Six Sigma or other advanced problem solving skills a must.

17. Computer literate in Microsoft Office products, ability to quickly learn new software such as CMMS and ERP applications.

18. Working knowledge of robot principles and controls including EOAT, willingness to learn basic robot programming to allow advanced process optimization.

19. Ability to use basic laboratory material test equipment such as moisture analyzers and melt index measurement, etc., experience with advanced testing such as DSC a plus.

20. Working knowledge of material compounding and re-pelletizing is a plus.

21. Willing to adjust working hours daily and weekly to insure priorities are met.

22. Must demonstrate the ability to lead team and coordinate team member activities.

EDUCATION

1. Four year engineering degree in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering.

2. Formal training in advanced  molding concepts such as decoupled molding, scientific molding principles.
